Clean Carpets.....for 12 Hours

There is nothing like the feeling of having the carpets cleaned. It just makes everything feel fresh and clean! Thursday we had our carpets cleaned and it was way overdue! When you have kids you just start to wonder if it is worth getting them cleaned because they get them dirty so fast. But it was time. It was way PAST time for them to be cleaned. It felt wonderful to get them cleaned. It made the whole world seem cleaner. In addition, I got all the baseboards cleaned as we had everything pulled out of the kids' room. It was wonderful.

Because I like the carpets to be really dry before I put the furniture back in the rooms we went to bed on Thursday night with everything still stacked in the laundry room, kitchen and bathrooms. We were all just drifting off to sleep in our beds (the only things left in the rooms), when Joshua came into our room and informed me that he had just thrown up! You guessed it! He got it all over his carpet! So Hal and I got up and started cleaning things up including doing the best we could with his carpet. After an hour of cleaning we all snuggled back into bed (Josh with his bowl). Well, he threw up again...missed the bowl and got the carpet in another spot! Needless to say I am having the carpet cleaners back as soon as possible!

I shouldn't be surprised, however. Two weeks after Hal and I got new carpet in our bedroom Joshua came in during the night and threw up all over our carpet. Of course that night, because I knew he was prone to vomiting, when he came in I jumped out of bed and handed him a blanket so that I wouldn't get vomit on my carpet. He grabbed the blanket, said "thanks mom" and wrapped it around his shoulders as he threw up all over my carpet! He is so much fun. He is my throw up kid. No matter what is wrong with him he reacts by throwing up. I still love him, but could he get to the toilet before puking..PLEASE?

I never thought I would blog about vomit. I had to lament and complain somewhere, so you get to hear about it!

Aunt Pat Visit

Aunt Pat and Hannah
We have been so LUCKY because Aunt Pat visited us this week.

The kids (and the cat) have loved having her around! And so have Hal and I. We had a lot of fun. She had to work during the days but we enjoyed having her around in the mornings and evenings. We just wish she could come again and stay longer. We miss you already Aunt Pat.
At dinner time our family has the tradition of playing High/Low. We take turns around the table saying what the "high" point of our day was and what the "low" point was. Tonight everyones low point was that Aunt Pat left.
We miss you!

Our Ski Team

Somehow Joshua was absent from our other ski photos earlier this week. Here is a picture of him and then another of all the crew at the end of the day!

Ohh...Mexico!

Mexico! What fun. I wanted everyone to have a chance to see how much fun we had when we went to Mexico for October Break last year. My Mom & Dad went as well as my sister Brookelynn, my brother Jeremy and his wife AJ and their three adorable kids. We had a blast!

In the Sun He Melted!

Sometimes Snowmen grow hair (or at least pine needles!). A highlight of the trip was building a snowman.

Boys! Boys! Boys!

Last night, anxiously awaiting our trip to the hot tub, Joshua was playing his DS. He didn't want to forget his goggles so he just wore them while playing. I don't know how you see anything with goggles on.

On another funny note, this morning he said to me, "Mom, do you want me to show you how I make farting noises?" I, of course, said "NO!" Dejected he said, "Uncle Burke would want me to show him!"

Got to love boys!

A Little Skiing

We spent Saturday hitting the slopes. Okay, well everyone except Kellie spent Saturday hitting the slopes. Kellie spent the day in her lawn chair in the "Lodge!" The lodge has cafeteria-style tables in perfect 70's colors and no soft chairs. I am pretty certain that I could have sold my lawn chair for quite a profit in an auction to all the other non-skiers watching from the lodge. The lodge does have windows looking over the bunny hill, wi-fi, and lots of Navajo tacos provided by the Indians who run the ski resort. Although I didn't sell my chair, I did sell some ski tickets. The hotel we were staying at had a ski package. They gave us 6 kid ski passes. In October we drove up to the ski resort and donated canned food and rode the tram and all three kids now have free season ski passes. So, I made $120 bucks selling the tickets. Everyone else had a great time getting their ski legs about them!

Concert in the Park

The boys.

True Arizonans think that it is cold when it is 65 degrees outside.

The girls enjoyed our afternoon more than Joshua.

This Saturday we went to Fountain Hills to a concert in the park. I have always wanted to go over to Fountain Hills to see the giant spurting fountain (visible from the Beeline Highway).

We found out that the band that played at Hal's birthday party, Mike and T, were performing a free concert in the park so we made an afternoon of it. It was really nice sunny afternoon and we were greatly entertained by both the band Mike and T and the great fountain that spurts water on the hour for 15 minutes at a time. Can you guess which of the attractions was Joshua's favorite? It was a really relaxing afternoon. We had a very busy week getting back into the routine so it was nice to just sit back and listen to some tunes.

Joshua does NOT like his photo taken...ever!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Giving Grandma a Break!

We had Grandma and Grandpa Williams here for two weeks. It was such a treat. We got to celebrate Becca's Birthday, Christmas Eve (with the Loertscher's), Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and Brookelynn's Birthday. We had a lot of fun. We took Dad to see the temple lights.

Mom and I spent a few hours shopping and shopping and shopping. One might think that she hasn't had a chance to get out much!

It was fun! Or at least it will be considered fun until all the bills come in! Ahh...but we can always return it. At least that is our mantra.
Also, we got a Wii for Christmas. This is the first video game system that has graced the Walker household. We have wasted lots of time! It has been great. Uncle Jeremy set us up so we can have "virtual playdates" with the cousins and race on Mario Kart. Thanks to Grandma Williams all the Williams grandkids own Mario Kart. We also played a little Price is Right with Grandpa.
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Love, The Walkers
