Happy Halloween

Our ward Halloween Party is tomorrow. Becca has been asked to provide 2 dozen cupcakes for the cake walk. We have had a lot of fun tonight working on these crazy cupcakes. Hannah and Becca hand-made the spider webs. The spiders are toys, but everything else is edible!
Happy Halloween!

Summer Rest and Relaxation

Rocky Point

Right after … and I do mean right after…as in 48 hours…we got home from Luke’s wedding we went to Mexico for a little rest and relaxation and I am so glad we did! It was perfect timing as we went two days AFTER Memorial Day so the crowds were thin and the weather was PERFECT. Little did I know that this would be the most restful part of my summer. I did savor it. “Relax” is not a word in my vocabulary. The only place I truly relax is in Mexico. There is something very wonderful about no cell phone reception. I think my ease of relaxation also relates to the laid-back pace and Mexican way-of-life! And possibly the great food!

This visit we actually rode horses on the beach. Becca has been begging us to ride since we started going to Mexico, but we just couldn’t get it coordinated for some reason. This trip she finally got to ride a horse on the beach. Now, she wants to take Jasmine next time. Too bad we don’t have a horse trailer! Not!

Happy Summer!

It was a Spanking!

We went to the Diamondbacks game tonight! It was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, Hal had to work, but we managed to party without him....somehow.

The Diamondbacks were playing the Dodgers. I love to go to the games when we are playing the Dodgers and I love it even more when we win...and tonight we whooped them! It certainly is a lot more fun when the Diamondbacks run 9 people across home plate. Keeps the game interesting. There are always a lot of Dodger fans in the audience which makes it even more fun. Joshua could hardly contain himself and wanted to stand on his chair and scream...fun for me and everyone else near us!

We had tickets that allowed us to go under the stands to use the restroom and it is also near the visitor's dugout. So Joshua "had" to go to the bathroom a lot. He wanted to boo them in their own dugout. All I can say is thank heaven for security guards.

The only disappointment of the night was the cancellation of the fireworks due to wind. Dang! We like to go on Friday nights because when weather permits they have fireworks.

This is what the Diamondbacks website had to say about the game.
PHOENIX -- The D-backs got five runs in the third inning to support a strong debut by Jon Garland as they beat the Dodgers, 9-4, on Friday night in the first game of a three-game series at Chase Field.
The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the D-backs, who lost seven of their final eight games against the Dodgers last season.
Garland, signed as a free agent in the off season, allowed three runs on five hits over seven innings of work.
James McDonald started for the Dodgers, and after retiring the first six batters he faced, things fell apart for the right-hander in the third as he walked three and hit a batter during the five-run outburst.
